Understand the coverage behind your project

Renmark helps homeowners distinguish product or manufacturer coverage from installation or workmanship coverage and identify the written documents that control.

Two kinds of coverage

Product terms and workmanship terms answer different questions

Product or manufacturer coverage

This may address eligible defects or failures in a specific window, door, roofing material, component, or finish. Terms, exclusions, registration, transfer rules, and claim procedures vary by manufacturer and product.

Installation or workmanship coverage

This addresses the installation work described by the contractor’s written agreement. The applicable scope, responsibilities, exclusions, and process should be reviewed separately from manufacturer documents.

Your records

Keep the documents needed to identify the project and coverage

Signed agreement and final scope

Retain the contract, approved changes, selections, and any completion or closeout records.

Product information

Keep model, series, color, component, batch, or serial information when those details are provided.

Warranty documents and registration

Save the current written terms and complete any required manufacturer registration by its stated deadline.

Care and maintenance guidance

Follow applicable cleaning, inspection, and maintenance instructions and keep relevant service records.

Photos and communication

Document the condition, when it began, and relevant correspondence before a repair changes the evidence.

Claim contact information

Record who administers each type of coverage and the steps required to begin a review.

When a question comes up

Start with the written terms and the observed condition

Contact Renmark with the project address, agreement information, product details, photographs, and a concise description of what changed. The team can help identify the relevant documents and appropriate next contact.

Avoid making invasive changes before receiving instructions when a manufacturer or other provider may need to inspect the condition. Take reasonable steps to prevent immediate additional damage and document what you do.
